Front Cover
I made my background black and added my masthead which was grime time this was chosen as the most popular name for my grime magazine.
I changed the colour of my masthead to purple because this was chosen by my audience as one of the colours in my the most popular colour scheme. I then added my main image this image was taken to go with my main article it would be my biggest picture.
When I added my picture I realised it made the purple look bland so I decided to try and place my image before my text this worked.
I then added my left third which was made up of three articles chosen by my audience, I also added the name of my main article underneath each heading I added a little information on what each article would consist of I also added a date, an issue number and a bar code these are part of the codes and conventions of magazines
I then changed the colour of my left third headings to the same as my masthead to keep the house style, I kept the main heading an slogan white and added pictures to go with my sub-articles.
I made my masthead and lft third headings have a white outline and my slogan and main headline a purple outline.
Contents
The first thing I did was make my background purple. This was because purple was the colour of my issue and also a major part of my colour scheme.
I then put different colour boxes on to show the different sections of my con tents page
I then added my text and logo, the text was determined by my audience feedback I let them choose what articles were featured as this would make certain that they were targeted for my target audience
I then added my pictures and more text, the extra text I added was a lure I said that the readers would get 50% off their next issue of grime time this way they would be more likely to buy it and also it would keep them intrigued to find what other offers are inside. The picture I used was to go with my main article this would be the biggest picture I use.
To finish my contents a added a few smaller pictures and resized the one I already had so it would fill the space
Double Page Contents
I used a black background on my double page spread and the same on my front cover this kept the house style so that it was easily identified as the same magazine
My picture and text were added
My picture was added next I made the text to fit around the picture jus like in real magazines
I then added my text the masthead was larger than any of the information so that it would stand out it also had a white outline so that it would keep with the colour scheme and style of many of my titles, I also added quotes from the text to it in large so that they stood out.

Grime Artists
The reason i studied grime artists was to see how they dress what sort of things they do on a day to day basis in order to find what sort of clothing, and attitude my models would need.

School Magazine evaluation
In what ways does your magazine use, develop or challenge the forms and conventions of real magazines?
How did you attract and address your audience?
Attracting my audience was quite difficult as the target audience was so wide. The colour scheme chosen was green, blue, black and white these colours were chosen as they are mutual, males and females are both attracted to these colours. The font chosen was Arial because again this is a mutual font also it is not aimed at any particular age range. These colours and font were used throughout my magazine to keep to the house style. something I used to attract the younger part of my audience were my images using young people in my images allowed my younger audience to have personal identification. The articles I used were chosen as a result of my audience research
What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this music magazine? (Lighting, photography, photo shop, indesign)
My magazine follows many conventions of a real magazine, however as I saw when analysing other school magazines they do not usually follow all of the forms and conventions. My magazine has most of the basic features of a real magazine this includes a masthead, which is the font Arial, size 86, and is the colours blue, green and black I chose this style and colour not only to keep to the house style of the magazine but also I thought it was quite unisex which is very relevant as my magazine is targeted at both males and females. I decided that a left hand third would be another element I would include, the writing was the same font and colours of the masthead this again kept the house style the font was size 12 and 24 throughout the magazine similar to the edition of King Edwards IV for girls grammar school. The main image was good quality and was used for the background of my front cover it was the image of my main article ‘uniform wars’ this article and others were used as a result of my audience research.
How does your music magazine represent particular social groups?
My magazine represents admittedly mainly only half of my audience through its persona in the images. As the people used were students, however some of the articles featured were aimed and represent an older audience because of the storyline.
Who would your target audience be and why?
My target audience was both males and females ranging from the ages 10 – 48 this is a wide range of people however the fact that it is aimed at students, parents and teachers narrows it down slightly I have chose these three groups of people because they are the ones that are closely related and associated with the school and so would be most likely to buy the magazine the demographics would range from social class C1 – E as there would be both working and non working class buying the magazine.
How did you attract and address your audience?
What have you learned about technologies from the process of constructing this music magazine? (Lighting, photography, photo shop, indesign)
During the process of my preliminary task I learnt a lot about different technologies, I learnt a lot about how to use photo shop, I realised that some features on photo shop brought down the quality of my magazine for example when my final product was done I noticed that some of the text bled. This is why for my main task of making a music magazine I will be using photo shop only to edit my pictures but to produce my final front cover, single contents, and double article I will be using a software named indesign as I have found that the quality and professionalism of my final product will be more efficient .
